They have recovered a single barrel gun, four bullets and 200 gm of gun powder. The susipicion of a foul play in the deaths of zoo elephants Ganesha and Roopa has proved right. The laboratory reports have confirmed that the elephants were killed using a strong chemical poison (zinc phosphide). The two elephants, which died on September 4 and September 7 respectively, had acute haemorrhagic enteritis and respiratory distress because of the poison. Zinc phosphide is normally used to kill rodents and it is a cheap poison available in the market.
