Russian archeologists want to submit unique bones of mammoth’s ancestor to Guinness Record Book as “most credible exhibit in the world”. Last autumn employees of Stavropol state local history museum found a skeleton of a fossil mammoth’s ancestor (“southern elephant”) Archidiskodon meridionalis Nesti, which lived about 1-1.8 million years ago.
