St. Louis Zoo elephant Sri still carries a dead fetus a year after it died in utero. The Asian elephant's calf died on Nov. 19, 2005, after a 22-month pregnancy. It was to have been Raja's first offspring. Keepers still don't know why the calf died, but Zoo health chief Randy Junge suspects it never positioned itself properly.
